UPDATE–LifeServe Blood Center Encouraging Blood Donations Through Rewards Program

Editor’s Note: This story has been updated to include Carroll blood drives taking place tomorrow (Friday) and Monday.

LifeServe Blood Center is now offering donors a little extra incentive to get out and save lives by giving them a chance to earn prizes. Donors can earn points for each unit of blood given, and those points can then be used to purchase gear like t-shirts, hats, blankets and hoodies. LifeServe also allows for those points to be offered back to help fund the agency’s scholarship program. The next chance for donors to give will be tomorrow, Friday, Feb. 16, at the McFarland Clinic in Carroll from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The First United Methodist Church in Carroll will be hosting a LifeServe blood drive on Monday, Feb. 19 from noon to six p.m. and the Breda Community blood drive will take place the next week, on Monday, Feb. 26 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the American Legion Hall. Appointments can be scheduled by calling 800-287-4903 or visiting the links included with this story on our website. LifeServe Blood Center is the sole provider of blood products to more than 120 hospitals in Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota. Each donation provides enough blood to save up to three lives locally.
