Kristen Lundstrom’s Work Starting The Carroll Summer Fun Camp Earns Her Humanitarian Of The Year Honors

Each year, the Carroll Chamber of Commerce recognizes outstanding examples of business and community leadership during their annual banquet, but one of their awards acknowledges an individual’s contributions to Carroll’s humanitarian efforts. The chamber has awarded nearly 30 people the honor since its creation. Emcee, Mike Franey, says all these recipients exemplify similar core values.

Kristen Lundstrom was named as the 2017 Humanitarian of the Year. Former Chamber President, Jill Schweers, says Lundstrom was chosen for the award based on her work creating the Carroll Summer Fun Camp.

Lundstrom started the camp in 2015 to provide a place for kids of all ages and abilities to be together and have fun. She says she is just a mom helping her kids and thanked the community for their overwhelming support.

Lundstrom will be live on 1380 KCIM AM radio in the 8 a.m. hour Monday morning to talk more about her work with the Carroll Summer Fun Camp. A list of the Chamber Banquet award winners can be found included with this story on our website. Carroll Broadcasting will bring you more from the event in upcoming broadcasts.
