Iowa Department Of Public Health Launches Personalized 14-Week Health Program

The Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) is now participating in a national health initiative designed especially for individuals with disabilities, chronic health conditions or mobility issues. The program, titled “14 Weeks to a Healthier You”, is designed to create a regimen specifically for each participant. Users register online and submit information about their condition and lifestyle. From that information, personalized resources and exercises are developed to meet their individual needs over the course of 14 weeks. “This is an exciting program because it is so inclusive,” says IDPH Brain Injury and Disability Program Manager, Maggie Ferguson. Ferguson notes the program was developed for people with all types of limitations, so almost anybody will be able to use it. Articles, tips, reminders, alerts and feature updates are available through the program to track nutrition and physical activity. Access to wellness coaches is also included as part of 14 Weeks to a Healthier You. A link to learn more about the program or to sign up can be found included below.
