Fuel Prices For Iowans Continue To Ease

Fuel prices continue to go down as ethanol, regular unleaded and retail diesel fuel all saw price declines over the past week. Iowa Secretary of Agriculture, Mike Naig, reports that ethanol and regular unleaded fell $.05 cents while diesel prices dropped $.02 cents. According to AAA, unleaded averaged $2.74 across Iowa, and though down for the week, it is still $.54 higher than last year. The national average is $2.88, reflecting only a $.03 decrease. Ethanol is currently priced at $1.39 per gallon and Iowa diesel is averaging $3.14, still higher than the $2.40 reported this same time last year, but $.04 lower than the national average of $3.18.
