Churdan Man Arrested For Threatening To Stab And Cut Throat Of Carroll Man

A Churdan man was arrested on Friday night after a digital argument escalated into threats of physical harm. At approximately 8:21 p.m., the Carroll Police Department was called to a home on North Court Street when the parents reported their son had been threatened. The victim told authorities that he and 18-year-old Tristen Palen Wood, had been exchanging several pages worth of text messages and Facebook Messenger phone calls that turned derogatory in nature. Wood started talking about the victim’s girlfriend, and then became upset when the victim made a comment about Wood’s deceased father. Wood was located at the Carroll Rec Center and was in possession of five knives. He admitted to officers that he was planning to stab the victim or cut his throat. Wood was transported to St. Anthony Regional Hospital for an evaluation and then released to the police department. He was subsequently charged with third-degree harassment, a simple misdemeanor, and released on Saturday, March 17, pending a court appearance.
