Members of Kaitlyn Christensen’s English 10 problems-solutions class at Carroll High School recently used a class project as a means of giving back to their local community. On Thursday, March 4, four of the students, Mallory Schultes, Alex Schroeder, Maddi VanHove and Wyatt Henson, made a donation of gift bags to The Birth Place at St. Anthony Regional Hospital. The students recognized that there are mothers who may be struggling financially to provide for their newborns, and decided to be part of the solution to this problem by collecting donations. They set up collection boxes at local churches, asking people to donate baby items, such as diapers, wipes, lotions, blankets, clothing, etc. They then sorted and separated the items into gift bags. A photo of the students presenting the bags to St. Anthony staff can be found with this story on our website.
