CCSD School Board Approves Scoreboard And Security Bids For New Stadium

The Carroll Community School District (CCSD) Board of Education voted earlier this week to approve nearly $330,000 in technology additions to the new stadium on Grant Road. The board unanimously chose a $244,000 bid from Daktronics for a 25 foot by 8 foot traditional scoreboard topped by a 25 foot by 14 foot video display. Superintendent, Rob Cordes, recommended that the board also approve three optional parts of the bid.

With those added components and an estimated $40,000 installation, the total cost for the new display is approximately $295,000. Members also decided to move the scoreboard to the northeast corner of the field based on input from Jeff Dvorak, the building and grounds supervisor.

Dvorak also recommended a $38,000 bid from Walsh Door & Security. The bid includes extensive video coverage and some control over access to the facility.

Dvorak added the public would still be able to use the facility during its open hours. The $5.4 million stadium and nearly $330,000 in additions brings the estimated total to $5.73 million, still $500,000 below the original estimate of $6.2 million.
