Busy Memorial Day Weekend Planned In Lake View

Residents and visitors to Lake View have a lot of options to stay busy over the long Memorial Day weekend. The community farmers’ market opens for the season tomorrow (Saturday) and can be found from 8 a.m. to noon at the Market Square on Main Street. A pancake fundraiser for the Log Cabin and Historical museum will also take place Saturday morning from 8 a.m. to noon at the American Legion Hall for only six dollars. At 9 a.m., the Garden Club plant sale will get started, and the splash pad in Speaker Park opens officially at 11 a.m. The new attraction will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. for the remainder of the season. The Lake View Hometown Pride Committee’s Memorial Weekend Bike Ride starts at noon at The Bar on Main Street. Riders will travel from Lake View to Breda on the Sauk Rail Trail. Registration is $25 per rider and includes a commemorative bandana. The Lake View Historical Museum is open for the first time this summer on Saturday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. On Sunday, the East Sac County (ESC) ag leadership class is presenting a free outdoor movie at 8:30 p.m. on the west Stone Pier. Memorial Day services will commence at 10 a.m. Monday at the Veterans Memorial in Speaker Park.
