Audubon Students Raise More Than $2,000 In Fight Against Cancer

Two student groups at Audubon High School (AHS) have combined to generate more than $2,000 for the fight against cancer. On Jan. 16, the AHS Student Senate and Dance Team hosted a Color Out Cancer event during a boys and girls basketball double header. The students raised money by selling ribbons, sponsorships and t-shirts. Fans were also able to contribute to the cause by purchasing rubber ducks during a “Chuck-a-Duck” competition and donated during a one-minute bucket pass. The AHS Student senate raised $1,100 to donate the Colleen’s Dream Foundation, an organization devoted to funding ovarian cancer research. The Dance Team presented their portion of the proceeds, $1,107, to the Audubon Chapter of the American Cancer Society.
