The Audubon Public Library is poised to kick off their summer reading program, “Libraries Rock!” which runs from June 4 through July 27. Several special events have been scheduled, including: storytelling, juggling and unicycling from the Hanson Family: Jester Puppets: a visit from Dan Wardell of Iowa Public Television and his Reading Roadtrip; magician, Jeff Quinn; singer and author, Chad Elliot; and more. The program will end with a pool party and prizes distributed to participants who reach milestones in their age groups. Preschoolers through first graders who read 10 books or have 10 books read to them will be recognized, along with second, third and fourth graders who read 100 pages or more and complete a book report and fifth- and sixth-grade students who read 150 pages or more and submit a book report.
