Audubon Community Schools Kick Off Summer Lunch Program June 4

The first day of the Audubon Community School District’s summer lunch program is scheduled to begin early next month. On June 4, 10 days after the final day of classes, all Audubon County students and children up to 18 years old will have access to free lunches in the elementary cafeteria. Meals will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on weekdays until Friday, Aug. 17. Audubon’s summer lunches are a part of the national Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Food and Nutrition Service. They estimate the program will provide approximately 200 million meals nationwide throughout the summer. The planned menus for the Audubon location can be found included below this story.
