Ames Teenager Cited In Greene County Accident Friday Afternoon

An Ames teenager was cited for driving too close to another vehicle after an accident in Greene County Friday afternoon. The Greene County Sheriff’s Office reported that at approximately 3:08 p.m., a 1994 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by 19-year-old Maryssa Soder of Boone, was westbound on Highway 30 and slowed to negotiate a turn onto 18th Street in Grand Junction. A 2009 Ford Explorer, driven by 17-year-old Dainlynn Greer, was following the Soder vehicle, and failed to stop in time to avoid a collision. She struck the rear bumper of the Silverado, causing an estimated $1,500 in damage to the truck and another $5,000 in damage to the Explorer. Greer was cited for no driver’s license and failure to ensure a safe and clear distance.
