Iowa corn farmers will be heading to their local Iowa State University Extension and Outreach offices in July to seat members on the Iowa Corn Promotion Board (ICPB). U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Crop Reporting District #4 covers Carroll, Audubon, Calhoun, Crawford, Greene, Guthrie, Harrison, Ida Monona, Sac, Shelby and Woodbury Counties and has two candidates on the Tuesday, July 17 ballot. Larry Buss, of Harrison County, is the current incumbent. He is joined on the ticket by Calhoun County farmer, Brandon Strutzenberg. Anyone within the district who has produced and marketed 250 bushels or more of corn in Iowa during the previous marketing year, from Sept. 1 2016 to Aug. 31, 2017, is eligible to vote in this election. Monday, June 25 is the deadline for requesting absentee ballots, and those must be postmarked on or before July 17. Results of the election will be announced on July 22.
