A water main break in Carroll has closed a stretch of Main Street in the southern portion of town. The city became aware of the break between Southgate Road and Hillcrest Drive at approximately 8 a.m. this (Thursday) morning. Due to the break, traffic along Main Street in that area will be closed for an indeterminate amount of time. Personnel from the Carroll Water Department are on the site working to repair the rupture as soon as possible. People living in the region who experience issues with water pressure or discoloration are asked to contact Public Works at 792-1000.
