United Bank of Iowa employees have selected four local cancer centers to receive employee-matched contributions, totaling more than $7,800. The money raised by employees was matched, and then tripled by the bank and distributed to the St. Anthony Cancer Center, Buena Vista Regional Medical Center’s AWARE in Storm Lake, June E. Nylen Cancer Center in Sioux City and Trinity Cancer Center in Fort Dodge. “In our positions, we see the impact cancer has on individuals and their families,” says United Bank President and CEO, Owen Bolte. “I’m proud of how our staff, along with family and friends stepped up to support this worthwhile cause.” Trish Roberts, St. Anthony Foundation Development Director, says they want to thank United Bank of Iowa and its many employees for the generous donation. “Expenses, including meals, travel and much more, can add up quickly when you have a loved one in and out of the hospital,” Roberts says. “The extra money will provide a much-needed boost for individuals caring for a family member fighting cancer.”
