U.S. Secretary of Agriculture, Sonny Perdue, has confirmed his plans to participate in the 2017 Ag Summit on Aug. 5 at the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines. “Obviously, having a commitment from Secretary Perdue to join in this discussion signals the value he places on developing a comprehensive strategy to ensure agriculture and our country’s agribusinesses are as vibrant and productive as they can be,” says event organizer, Bruce Rastetter. He adds he is looking forward to a productive dialogue on issues such as trade, energy sustainability, the environment, corporate mergers and the 2018 farm bill as well as how these will help the agriculture sector flourish now and into the future. This year’s summit will feature perspectives from state, national and international officials and will include keynote speeches, panel discussions and agricultural exhibits.
