The Carroll County Conservation Board is hosting a free fishing clinic Saturday, June 3 at the Swan Lake Fish House as part of the Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Free Fishing Weekend. From 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday morning, naturalist intern and fishing expert, Brendan Kelly, will be available to provide poles and bait for individuals who do not have any equipment and offer advice on the best methods to catch specific species. The Fish House is located on the south shore of Swan Lake east of the Education Center. A fishing license is not required from Friday, June 2 to Sunday, June 4 in Iowa for new anglers to try out the sport. All other regulations, such as daily bag limits and size restrictions, will remain in place.
