Suspicious Package Found Outside Sac County Courthouse Determined Not To Be A Bomb

A suspicious package left at the Sac County Courthouse Wednesday morning was determined to not be a threat. Just before 11 a.m., the item was placed near the door of the Sheriff’s Office in Sac City by a man acting unusually. The courthouse was evacuated, and officers dressed in protective gear investigated the package. The item was found to not be an explosive device. The actually contents of the package have not been made public. The name of the suspect has not been released, and he was detained by authorities. It is not yet clear if charges are being brought against the individual. The Sac County Courthouse remained closed for the remainder of the day but is scheduled to reopen at its regular time, 8 a.m., Thursday morning.
