A study released in early March ranks Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa in the top five of members of Congress for the number of town hall meetings held since 2015. By this measure, Grassley is one of the most accessible members of the 500 current members of either party or chamber of Congress. “Representative government is a two-way street,” Grassley said. “I’m one half of the process and the people of Iowa are the other half. You can’t have representative government without dialogue between elected officials and the people we represent.” He added that he appreciates the opportunity to hold town meetings, answer questions and take comments. Grassley holds at least one town hall meeting in each of Iowa’s 99 counties every year.
