Refresh Manning Trust To Distribute More Than Double The Amount In Grants This Cycle

An increase in donations to the Refresh Manning Trust fund in 2017 will result in a direct benefit to the community. The trust saw donations of $10,000 and $50,000 this past year, bringing it to a new balance of $99,000, which will raise the distribution amount from the $1,600 given last year to $4,750 this year. The grant application cycle is now open, with a deadline for submission by Wednesday, Dec. 6. The grant award winners will be announced in mid-December and the distributions will take place in January of 2018. The trust, which originated in 2012, is designed much like the Warren H. Timmerman Trust Fund as it will benefit 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations as well as political subdivisions headquartered within the Manning City limits. All grant money must be used for charitable purposes within the Manning City limits. Past recipients include the Manning Child Care Center, Manning Rec Center, IKM-Manning School District, Trestle Park, the wrestling team and many others. Anyone with an interest in Manning’s future prosperity is asked to consider a donation and take advantage of the available tax benefits. The minimum donation is $100, but can include cash, farmland, real estate, stocks or bonds, grain, life insurance and 401k required minimum distributions. The grant is administered by the Community Foundation of Carroll County and donations can be sent to the address included below. There is also the link to apply for grants and contact information for those with questions.
