Manning Regional Healthcare Center (MRHC) employees got the chance to learn more about key priorities during the second annual Patient Safety Fair on Wednesday and Thursday, March 15 and 16. Chief Nursing Officer, Linn Block, said that patient surveys that give valuable feedback about their visit or stay at MRHC drive the focus of the employee education efforts. “The six education areas we pinpointed in our second annual Patient Safety Fair have been specifically selected to help us improve the care we provide our patients and the safety of our employees,” Block said. Six booths were set-up in the main conference room that showcased hand washing, preventing employee back injuries, two-patient identification methods, medication safety, patient falls and hand-off patient care communication. There was an element of fun to the learning experience as well with raffle prizes and quizzes about the topics discussed.
