As the Carroll Rotary celebrates the organizations 95th Anniversary, they will be changing up the raffle drawing that accompanies their annual Texas hold ‘em tournament. Rotary Foundation Chair and organizer, Bob Fasbender explains the event taking place this coming Sunday, Jan. 22, at the Swan Lake Convention Center.
Traditionally, the raffle drawings would be held that day, but because of the special anniversary, the Rotary wanted to take a little more time. Ticket sales are extended with the new drawing date to be Monday, Feb. 13. Tickets will also be available for sale at Sunday’s tournament at $25 each, $40 for two, $50 for four or $100 for 10.
Fasbender said they have a Vintage “Game of Carroll” board game that will be auctioned off instead of being a part of the raffle. The poker tournament costs $50 to buy in and the Rotary guarantees at least $1,000 will go back to players. There are about 50 participants each year, and Fasbender said there is no preregistration required, just show up on Sunday before the 1 p.m. deal time. Raffle tickets can be purchased by contacting Adam Schweers or Fasbender through the contact points listed with this story on our website.
