More Than $10,000 In Damages From Two-Vehicle Accident Thursday

There was over $10,000 in damages in a two-vehicle accident Thursday in Jefferson. At approximately 1:04 p.m., the Jefferson Police Department responded to the scene at the intersection of Oak and Harrison Streets. A 2014 Mazda CX5, driven by Kim Vancleave of Des Moines, was southbound on Oak Street. She was struck in the intersection by a 2008 Chevrolet Impala, driven by Jan Black of Jefferson, who was westbound on Harrison Street. The Vancleave vehicle suffered an estimated $7,000 in damages while the Black vehicle received $3,500. Black was cited for failure to yield to a vehicle on the right and failure to provide proof of financial liability.
