Manning Trestle Park Trail Construction To Be Completed This Year

The Manning City Council recently reviewed the plans, specifications and estimated cost for a new portion of the city’s trail system. The Trestle Park Trail project, according to City Administrator, Dawn Rohe, will connect their newest recreation area with the rest of the community and the other trail segments.

Ten Point Construction of Denison won the bid for the Trestle Trail project at $172,693.50. Rohe said work will be done yet this year.

Another section of the Manning trail system, however, will see the completion of an expansion this spring as work continues on the installation of a key connector.

The city has taken the trail to the Manning Regional Healthcare Center (MRHC) property, and MRHC has taken over from there, creating a trail from the hospital to Great Western Park. That segment, Rohe said, transitions the the trail from a paved path to a crushed concrete one.
