Last week, an iconic area landmark received recognition from the state’s Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA) by being named the winner of the Travel Iowa Outstanding Rural Attraction Award. Manning Hausbarn-Heritage Park Director, Freda Dammann, and her husband, Leroy, accepted the award on behalf of the organization. In a recent posting, Freda said they couldn’t have gotten to where they are today without the help of their many volunteers, community supporters, donors and visitors. In-particular, Dammann thanked the many, many brides from around the country who travel to Manning to hold their weddings in such a rich, beautiful and historic location.
