Lanesboro Man Tries To Throw Evidence During Traffic Stop Sunday Night

A Lanesboro man is in custody on drug charges after a traffic stop on Sunday night. At approximately 8:45 p.m., Carroll County Sheriff’s Office deputies stopped 28-year-old Cody Lee Sellman at the intersection with U.S. Highways 71 and 141 for driving while barred. While deputies were executing the stop, they observed Sellman throw a large quantity of marijuana from his 2000 Chevrolet Silverado. He was taken into custody and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and failure to affix a drug tax stamp, both class D felonies, and driving while barred and keeping a premise or vehicle for distribution of a controlled substance, both aggravated misdemeanors. Sellman is being held in the Carroll County jail on $5,000 bond. The Audubon County Sheriff’s Office assisted in this incident.
