Lake View Lagoon Project Pushed Back Into 2019

Lake View’s estimated completion date for a proposed lagoon project has been pushed back several months. The project was originally slated to finish in mid- to late-2018, but now it will be operational in early 2019. City Administrator, Scott Peterson, updated the council on the delays earlier this week.

The engineering firm, Veenstra and Kimm, Inc., of West Des Moines, is in charge of the planning, design and filings required for the project. Peterson says the firm had to make a schedule change due to issues with receiving authorization for the plan.

Once the approval from the DNR is finished, work will continue as intended, just slightly delayed. Lake View’s new lagoon will be placed about a quarter-mile north of Highway 175 and a half-mile to the east of the existing sewer plant.
