ISU Professor Named Global Academic Leadership Award Recipient

An Iowa State University (ISU) professor has been named a recipient of the 2017 Global Agriculture Academic Leadership award. Manjit Misra, who is the director of the ISU Seed Science Center and a professor of agricultural and biosystems engineering, was presented the award on Sept. 5 during the 10th Annual Global Agriculture Leadership Summit in New Delhi, India. “This recognition means a great deal to me,” Misra says. “But it reflects not my accomplishments, but those of the Seed Science Center faculty and staff at Iowa State University and I am extremely proud to be a part of that.” The award recognizes individuals and institutions for leadership in agriculture and are based on nominations of experts from a variety of ag-related fields. During the summit, Misra spoke to an international audience regarding the importance of providing quality seed to producers across the globe as a way to reduce food insecurity.
