Ida County Sheriff’s Office Seizes Large Sum Of Cash After Drug Bust

The Ida County Sheriff’s Office seized a large amount of money Wednesday from two Colorado men after they were arrested on drug distribution charges. At approximately 3:15 a.m. deputies pulled over a vehicle on Highway 20 in rural Ida County with two occupants smelling of marijuana, 42-year-old John Wesley and 33-year-old Michael Christopher Taylor, both of Auruora, Colo. Ida County K-9 Anou was deployed and indicated narcotics in the vehicle. When deputies searched the vehicle, four and half pounds of marijuana and a quarter pound of cocaine were found hidden. A large sum of money was also discovered with the drugs. Both men were arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and cocaine, both class B felonies, and drug tax stamp violations. They are currently being held in the Ida County Jail. No bond has been set.
