Graphic Edge To Host 12th Annual Fall Affair For Family Resource Center

The Graphic Edge of Carroll will be acting hosts for the 12th annual Family Resource Center (FRC) Fall Affair on Thursday, Nov. 2 at the old Heider Building (Edge Warehouse) on West 3rd Street. Proceeds from the annual fundraiser are used to support the Family Resource Center’s grant-matching programs and the Client Needs Closet. This unique space helps provide for individuals who can’t afford some of the necessary daily items, such as laundry soap, baby wipes, diapers, shampoo and bath soap, toilet paper and much more. The Family Resource Center, under the leadership of Executive Director, Tim Nichols, and founder, LouAnn Mowrey, has worked diligently to help area citizens in need and to strengthen families and the community through their various programs. “Our community has always been very supportive of FRC’s mission and goals,” Nichols said,” and we look forward to a great turnout for this year’s Fall Affair. In fiscal year 2017, the Family Resource Center’s waiver program provided just shy of 165,000 hours of service to over 305 clients and arranged for over 240 independent contract service providers. The Crisis Child Care Program provided just over 3,700 hours of child care for 81 children from 43 families and the Client Needs Closet helped almost 170 individuals and families. The 12th annual Fall Affair will be held from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and feature a cash bar, hors d’oeuvres and desserts provided by Hy-Vee and Hy-Vee Wine and Spirits, music by All Strings Attached along with live and silent auctions. Tickets are $40 per person/$80 per couple and can be purchased at the Family Resource Center’s office on 7th Street or at the door on Nov. 2. Contact points for more information or details on how to make a donation to the Family Resource Center can be found here.
