Glidden Opens Bids For Purchase Of Shelter House In Aquatic Center Park

The City of Glidden is requesting sealed bids from parties interested in purchasing and removing the 1983 shelter house in the Aquatic Center Park. With the completion of the Albert Kruger Sr. Shelter House in June, the city no longer has a need to keep the 34-year-old structure in the recreational area. Bids are due to the city office by noon on Monday, Aug. 28. The winning bidder has two options on how they can handle the building. It can be torn down and parted out for material, or the shelter house can be relocated and used at a different location on private property. Once a bid is approved by the Glidden City Council, work can begin as soon as the following day on Aug. 29. The city does require the shelter house to be removed by Wednesday, Nov. 15.
