Estimated $5,000 In Damage From Car-Deer Accident Monday Evening

There was an estimated $5,000 in damage in a car-deer accident near Carroll Monday night. At approximately 6:44 p.m., the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office responded to Olympic Ave. south of Carroll. The investigation revealed that a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by 16-year-old Riley Nehring of Carroll, was southbound on Olympic when a deer ran across the roadway. Nehring attempted to brake to avoid hitting the deer, but was unable to do so in time and struck the animal, causing it to land in the west ditch. No injuries were reported and no citations were issued in the incident.
