Crawford County Named As 76th Home Base Iowa Community

Crawford County was named the 76th Home Base Iowa Community during a ceremony earlier this week. On Tuesday, Nov. 21, state officials announced the designation at the Crawford County Courthouse. The event was attended by local veterans, business leaders and elected officials, including Gov. Kim Reynolds. “It’s been a true honor to be a part of this program from the beginning. I’m proud of how much it continues to grow. Crawford County has put in a lot of effort to achieve this designation. Becoming a Home base Iowa Community is no easy task,” says Reynolds. Home Base Iowa designates qualified communities as centers of opportunity for military veterans based on four standards. Ten percent of the businesses need to be a part of Home Base Iowa and pledge to hire veterans, the community develops its own incentive package for veterans, show a sense of pride in Home Base Iowa and receive a resolution of support from a local governing body. Crawford County is proud to have met all these requirements. To learn more about Home Base Iowa and what they do for veterans, follow the link included below.
