The National District Attorneys Association (NDAA) has announced the appointment of Carroll County Attorney, John Werden, to their Marijuana Working Group. The NDAA is forming the group to formulate association policy on marijuana laws and to develop a position paper to outline the issue of whether or not marijuana should be legalized or decriminalized. They will also be discussing when medical marijuana research and use may be appropriate and the potential impact on the nation’s roadways in the form of impaired driving. The formation of the working group comes about through anticipation that the change in administration may bring about a shift in marijuana laws and associated enforcement nationwide. The NDAA routinely meets with the Department of Justice, members of Congress and other national associations to represent the views of prosecutors.
