Carroll City Council Will Discuss Rescheduling OPN Public Meeting

Monday’s ice storm resulted in the cancelation of a meeting that would allow the public to see a presentation from OPN Architects on the plans for the Carroll Public Library and city offices. City Manager, Mike Pogge-Weaver, said rescheduling will be an item on the agenda for the City Council’s next meeting on Monday, Jan. 23. This initial public presentation, he said is a broad overview to move the project forward.

Pogge-Weaver said they expected to be able to talk about ways to adapt plans for cost-savings at the meeting, no numbers or plans specifically, but a high-level discussion on how they can bring down costs.

The council is expected to consider rescheduling for Monday, Feb. 13, during a regularly-scheduled council meeting. Other items on the agenda for Monday night include a review and waiving of purchasing policies to acquire spinning bikes of the same brand being currently used at the Carroll Rec Center, funding requests from the Carroll Chamber of Commerce and Carroll Area Development Corporation (CADC) followed by a council work session reviewing Iowa’s competitive bidding laws. The meeting will get underway at 5:15 p.m. in the second-floor council chambers at City Hall.
