Democratic 4th Congressional District candidate, J.D. Scholten, will be hosting a meet-and-greet event in Carroll this week. Scholten, who is running for the House seat against incumbent Republican Steve King, is from Sioux City and currently works as a paralegal, specializing in Intellectual Property law. As a former minor league baseball player, Scholten says that he is a man that is representative of Iowa values, and although his work has taken him around the country, those values have never changed. He says he was raised to believe that hard work, civility and community are values we should all aspire to and he is bringing those with him as he tours the district in his campaign. The free meet-and-greet event will be held at the Carroll Pizza Ranch from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 6.
