Students heading to their first year of college as well as current undergrads, graduate and veterinary students are eligible to apply for $177,000 in scholarships available from Targeting Excellence. The students must be enrolled in a food animal agriculture curriculum at an institution that offers degrees in agriculture. Awards for 2017 will be based on the program to which the student is enrolled, with $1,000 for two-year programs, $2,000 for four-year programs and $3,000 for graduate or veterinary programs. Preference will be given to students who attend schools in regions where fundraising events were held in 2016. The application period closes Friday, March 31 and winners will be announced on May 2.
