Unemployment Numbers Fell For Crawford County

Unemployment rates in Crawford County leveled off and even lowered by 1.5 percent over last month’s report from Western Iowa Advantage. The figures, provided by Iowa Workforce Development, reported the March unemployment rate in Crawford County at 6.9 percent, compared to 5.4 percent for April. Over Western Iowa Advantage’s seven-county region, the overall unemployment rate also saw a decrease last month from 4.4 percent to 3.6 percent, although this number is .3 percent higher than the same time last year. Carroll County no longer holds the lowest unemployment rate in the region as Ida County came in at 2.5 percent and Carroll one point higher at 2.6. Sac and Adair Counties were close behind at 2.8 and 2.9 percent respectively, while Audubon, Guthrie and Greene all reported numbers over three percent. Audubon was at 3.2, Guthrie at 3.6 and Greene at 3.8 percent.
