Unless you’re someone who’s getting a big tax refund, many people strongly dislike tax season. However, two area residents, might have an extra spring in their step after having won $1,000 just for filing their taxes with H&R Block. Carroll Agent, Casey Cook explains how the 1,000 Win $1,000 Daily sweepstakes works.
The contest started in mid-January and so far Kelsey Hildebrand of Coon Rapids and Christopher Barthman of Carroll have each won $1,000 along with a third yet-to-be-named individual. Cook says the sweepstakes serves a dual purpose as it encourages people to file their taxes prior to the last minute even though they do have a couple of extra days this year.
