A Sac City woman is uninjured after a single-vehicle accident that occurred at approximately 8:04 a.m. on Friday, March 25 on U.S. Highway 71 north of Carroll. Twenty-two-year-old Machele Leanne Julian was northbound on Highway 71 in a 2002 Chevrolet Malibu, approximately a quarter mile north of 150th Street when she says she fell asleep at the wheel. Her vehicle entered the west ditch and struck a utility pole. There was an estimated $2,500 damage to Julian’s vehicle. The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
