Register now for Youth Ice Fishing Clinic at Black Hawk Lake

Recently cold winter weather has moved in, a drastic change from the warm start to the season, but those planning to attend the Youth Ice Fishing Clinic at Black Hawk Lake are hoping the cold sticks around a little while longer. Event participants are planning to go fishing on the frozen lake on Saturday, February 20.

The event is designed to teach kids in 1st through 7th grade about the fish, their habitat, and ice safety tips. Children, along with their attending adult, will start out at the Lake View library at 9:00 am before gather up their fishing gear to head out onto Black Hawk Lake to try their luck at hooking a fish. The free event will last until 12:00 pm. Participants do need to register for the free ice fishing event by the Friday, February 12, deadline. The Sac County Conservation Board and the Sac County ISU Extension Office are sponsoring the clinic. In order to register call either office at 712-662-4530 or 712-662-7131 respectively.
