Officials to present information about Twin Lakes’ water quality

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources, Iowa State University, and the Twin Lakes Restoration Association will host a public meeting on Thursday, May 19 to discuss the water quality in both the North and South Twin Lakes. The two Calhoun County bodies of water are currently listed on the state’s List of Impaired Waters and the overall goal is to remove them from that list and also improve the recreational opportunities at both lakes. The public presentation will include findings from a diagnostic and a feasibility study which were conducted at both the North and South Twin Lakes over the past two years. Officials will also be able to provide suggestions as to how the community can use the information in order to develop a long term management and improvement plan for the lakes. The meeting will be held at the Twin Lakes Bible Camp and will begin at 6:30 pm. The public is encouraged and welcome to attend.
