The Kuemper Catholic School System will be celebrating a couple of major milestones this coming Wednesday, June 1, starting the morning with the eighth-grade scholarship presentations and graduation. President John Steffes said they are making some changes to these events this year.
The awards and scholarship presentations will begin at 9 a.m. in the St. Lawrence gymnasium, prior to Mass and graduation, which will begin at 9:45 a.m. at St. Lawrence Church. Following the ceremony, a lunch will be served back in the gymnasium and the students will head out to the Carroll Bowl. Steffes said that the community really pulls together and makes the scholarships possible, providing
assistance for students with high school tuition.
Later in the day, the entire community is invited to congratulate Kuemper High School Principal, Penny Miller on her retirement after 14 years of service.
The reception is open at Kerp’s Tavern from 4 to 7 p.m. Snacks and cake will be provided.
