Jensen Receives Menopause Practitioner Certification, Menopause Education Event Planned

Women’s health is a priority at St. Anthony Regional Hospital and they are pleased to announce that Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner, Hope Jensen, has earned her Menopause Practitioner certification from the North American Menopause Society. Jensen said she has been working with patients going through menopause for the past eight years and wanted to learn more about the research being done to help women through this transition. Women are living longer after menopause, Jensen added, they need someone who understands the process to address their concerns and provide accurate information. Jensen earned her Bachelor of Science in nursing degree from Creighton University prior to working as a registered nurse in the ICU and on the medical/surgical floor at St. Anthony from 2000 to 2007. She returned to Creighton to complete her master’s degree and became certified as a family nurse practitioner in 2007, coming back to St. Anthony in 2008 to focus on women’s health and family medicine. If you are looking for more information on menopause, Jensen and Dr. Maria Hernandez will be hosting the “Hot, Hot, Hot: Everything You Need to Know about Hot Flashes, Hormones and Your Health” free community event at Santa Maria Winery in Carroll on Wednesday, Feb. 17. The evening will begin with a social at 6 p.m. and the program will begin at 6:30 p.m. To register, call St. Anthony Regional Hospital at 794-5243.
