On New Year’s Eve, the Coon Rapids firefighters and emergency responders are holding their 10th Annual New Year’s Eve Dinner and Dance to help raise money for their departments. Public servants and citizens gather at the American Legion Hall for dinner on Saturday, Dec. 31, at 5 p.m., and the dance lasts from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. Attendees can enjoy beer and mixed drinks provided by the American Legion throughout the evening. The fire department is holding a raffle ticket drawing for $500 Coon Bucks, half a hog or a Wild Rose Casino Overnight Package on the night of the event that can be purchased for 10 dollars at the dance or from the Coon Rapids City Clerk’s Office. The cost to attend is a freewill donation to help support the Coon Rapids Fire and Ambulance Departments.
