It’s touted as the happiest 5K on the planet, and area residents can experience the Color Fun Walk/Run 2016 in Carroll on Saturday, May 7. The Carroll Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the event along with area businesses, and Steve Blackburn of Brown’s Shoe Fit says it’s sparked a lot of conversations with customers.
You’re likely to find some colorful characters at the event as mostly everyone opts to get covered in colorfully colored cornstarch.
It’s recommended to wear sunglasses to keep the colored starch out of your eyes or to bring a towel. The family fun 5K walk/run begins at the North Shelter House at Swan Lake beginning at 9:00 am. Elizabeth Uhlenkamp, Program Director at the Carroll Chamber, says around 120 participants have already registered and explains how you can register too.
After end of day Friday, April 29, registration increases to $30 for adults and $20 for kids. If you aren’t quite sure yet you can also register the day of the event, which will be held rain or shine, beginning at 8:30 am.
