South Central Calhoun’s head football coach has made it to the final stages of voting to be selected as U.S Cellular’s Most Valuable Coach. Bryan Case was honored at a ceremony today where the school was award $1,000 dollars for having a coach reach the top 15 in the country. Mark Schafer, South Central Calhoun’s Athletic Director, attested to the quality of coach the school has in Case. He went onto say he is even more proud of his character.
Case addressed students during the award ceremony. He placed all the credit on the students and staff. The top two coaches in the contest will win an additional $5,000 for their school and get honored at the Under Armor All-Star Game in Orlando, Fla. on Jan. 1. While not a big fan of the limelight, he said voting in the contest is important.
Over 400 coaches were nominated in the contest, and Case is honored and humbled to make it to the final stage. Many of the coaches come from larger schools, and he says it says a lot about the support the community has for the Titans.
Voting ends on Nov. 18 at noon, and voters can vote once per day. Previous ballots are no longer counted, and all should remember to cast a vote for Coach Case and SCC by going to www.themostvaluablecoach.com.
