Carroll Public Meeting Next Week Will Preview Proposed Improvements At Highway 30 And Grant Road

The City of Carroll will be holding another public meeting next week for proposed improvements at the U.S. Highway 30 and Grant Road intersection. Director of Public Works, Randy Krauel says the city has been working to incorporate changes at that intersection for some time now.

Krauel added that the majority of accidents arise from left-hand turns, and the proposed changes will address that by widening a portion of U.S. 30 to provide room for turning lanes.

The improvements are expected to be done in the 2017 construction season, with the city hoping to be able to put it out for bids in March. Krauel said there are some issues still pending that will need to be resolved before this can happen.

The meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 13 will be open to the public from 5:15 to 7 p.m. in the second-level council chambers at City Hall. It will be conducted in an open format with no formal presentation, but plans and an overview of the project will be available for review. City staff and a project consultant from Snyder and Associates will be on hand to answer questions about the displays and relevant information. Anyone with questions or who needs assistance with accessing the meeting space can contact Krauel at 792-1000.
