BVU Named To Higher Education Honor Roll For Outstanding Service

Buena Vista University (BVU) has been named to the 2016 President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll by the Corporation for National and Community Service. They have been recognized in the General Community Service Category, distinction in Interfaith Community Service, Education Community Service and for Economic Opportunity Service. “For 125 years, our motto has been ‘Education for Service,’” said Dr. Ashley Farmer-Hanson, assistant dean for student life and director of civic engagement. “It is great to see that no matter what is happening, our campus has been dedicated to making the community of Storm Lake an even better place.” The 2016 awards represent service that was completed in the 2015/16 academic year. During that time, nearly 900 BVU students, faculty and staff combined to contribute more than 58,000 hours of service.
