The contingent of African Mandela Fellows who visited Manning on Saturday, July 23, expected to learn a lot about a small Iowa community that has excelled in promoting small business growth and entrepreneurship as part of their leadership institute at Drake University. Video from that visit shows they maybe got a lot more than expected with an impromptu Main Street party. The group stopped and danced around the van of a familiar Manning fixture, Verl Wurr, who drives through the streets sharing his love of Polka music. There was a lot more for the nearly 25 visitors to do during their day-long visit, including the presentations they attended at the Hausbarn Konfrenz Centre and tours of local businesses and attractions.
